The Olson, Grilletta, Simoneaux families send our heartfelt sympathy for Winnie and all of your family. Winnie was such an inspiration in her cancer battle. Truly, a beautiful woman, strong in faith and love of her extraordinary family. We are all sending our prayers, comfort, and condolences to all of you at this difficult time. I just wanted to share a quick memory of Whinnie (Granny).
This memory of Granny occurred during Elise and Julian’s rehearsal dinner/party at their house. Everything was beautiful, they rented a big tent and had a great Crawfish Boil. Everyone was having a great time enjoying the Crawfish. Then the rain came and everyone went into tent. This was working well for a while. The rain came down harder and the water began to rise. Most people retreated to the house. However Grandad wanted some Crawfish, he and I found a spot in the back of the and we put the Crawfish feed bag on. We sat there eating for quite a while. Every now and then Granny would stick her head of the door and remind Grandad that he was not supposed to be eating Crawfish due to the sodium. After she would go back inside he would hand his tray for another refill. This went on tray after tray and Granny was getting angry. Each time she came she was a little more angry. Grandad just kept eating Crawfish because he knew this might be the last time he would be able to eat them. When Grandad finally had his fill we started for the house. We expected to hear an ear full from Granny. To my surprise we walked into the house and she put her hand on Grandad’s shoulder and said “I understand” Grandad looked right in the eyes and said “Thank you”.
It was at this moment I realized how much they cared for each other. And how much they loved each other, it was beautiful.
Granny may you rest in peace and thank you for such a wonderful memory . We love you and your entire family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Our deepest heartfelt condolences to Jim and the entire family. We have known Winnie for over 16 years. She was a beautiful "Southern Lady," inside and out. She always greeted you with a smile and took time to chat. She loved her family deeply and it showed. May God hold you in his heart, may you rest in peace. My prayers and love go out to the whole Orr family. Winnie was one of the most amazing individuals I was ever blessed to know. She was always loving and nurturing to not only her own family, but also always treated others in the same manner. On a selfish basis her tough loving approach was a much needed stabilizing force for me personally during a tumultuous phase of my own life. Her home was always open to the friends of her son Jimmy in addition to a warm bowl of Louisiana's dirty rice on the table if wanted. We all are now not only blessed to have known Winnie and the Orr family, but also to have the opportunity now to celebrate her life. She will deeply missed but NEVER forgotten. - Love to everyone
