At Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, we all miss Crawford since he left last year for Louisiana and are saddened to learn of his passing. I served alongside him on properties committee for many years. Crawford was a trusted friend and valued advisor in all things construction. There weren’t many weekends when he wasn’t busy helping someone in our church or community.

I worked with Mr. Young for many years at The City of Columbia. He will always be remembered by me as one of the most knowledgeable men I’ve EVER known. He was so experienced and skilled as the Facilities Manager in our department which made him very well respected. Whenever I didn’t know something about a project, he made sure to explain it to me in every single, little detail while I was thinking, “Mr. Young, I don’t need to know all of this….I HAVE YOU!!!” 🤣🤣🤣 I’ll never forget him and I thank you Lord for bringing him into my work life Marsheika Armstrong
I met Mr. Young in 2006 in a carpentry class he taught for the Ciity of Columbia. We became friends and worked together until he left Columbia and moved to Louisiana. One of his favorite saying was why English is not working for me . Thanks for 26 years of friendship Charles.
Crawford and I met in Nashville in 1975, and maintained our friendship all the way through the years in New York City, and Atlanta, and all the other places the two of us went together and separately, up until just a few weeks ago when I last spoke to him. Crawford was a force of nature, a man that it was impossible not to respect and enjoy. He will be remembered always by me and by many others.

Crawford was a lifelong friend of my brother, Randall Wheeler, who passed in 2023. He and Randall always enjoyed getting together with classmates when they were back at home in Oconee County GA. I send my sincere condolences to his family. His was a life well-lived. Rebecca Wheeler Bunce
