William Robert “Bill” Schee passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Covington, LA at the age of 70. He was born on April 30, 1945 in Meriden, CT. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Schee and Eleanor Hall Schee and older brother, John Hall “Jack” Schee.
Bill was married to his beloved wife, Bobbi Henderson Schee, for 18 years. He was the loving father of Bret Schee (Jennifer) of Strongsville, Ohio and Matthew Schee (Kornelia) of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Bill was the proud grandfather of Avery, Reagan, and Lyla Schee. He was the brother of Daniel Schee (Stephanie) of Huron, Ohio. Bill is also survived by the mother of his 2 sons, Darcy Hetrick Schee of Sandusky, Ohio.
It was often said that he was “larger than life” by those who knew him.
Bill was a veteran having served in the U. S. Navy in the 1960’s as a radio operator on the USS Monrovia out of Norfolk, Virginia.
Bill was a champion hydroplane boat racer and in his later years a huge NASCAR fan. He enjoyed going to NASCAR races in his 5th wheel so he could camp at the track. Some of his unique experiences include driving the pace car with James Garner at the Indy 500 race. He also had the privilege of holding the position of bodyguard for Henry Kissinger when he was the Secretary of State.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the wonderful physicians at Cleveland Clinic where he had his lung transplant in November 2011, and to his local physician, Dr. David Cressy, and his associates for their compassionate care.
The family will hold a celebration of his life at a later date. Please Share a Memory on the Tribute Wall at www.ejfieldingfh.com.
