William Joseph "Bill" Gearheard Sr.'s Obituary
William J. Gearheard, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at his home in Mandeville, LA. He was born on February 17, 1936 in New Orleans, LA to the late Arthur Grant Gearheard, Jr. and Marguerite Faucheaux Gearheard
Bill was married to his beloved wife, Connie Shaheen Gearheard, for 57 years and together they had four children, Fr. William Joseph Gearheard, Jr., Nall Edward Gearheard (Beth Mayfield), Cynthia G. Stevens (Brett), and Eugenie G. Helmka (Trey). He was the loving grandfather of Eli, Walker, and Ella Grace Gearheard, Kevin Blackwell, Jillian and Madeleine Bailey, McKay and Molly Stevens, and Millicent Helmka. Bill was the brother of the late Arthur G. Gearheard, III and Margot G. Jacobs.
Bill graduated from St. Stanislaus High School, Bay St. Louis, MS. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana Lafayette and earned his JD from Loyola Law School, New Orleans, LA. Bill was an avid LSU football fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471, LA 70433 on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time.
