William "Billy" Andrew Galloway's Obituary
William “Billy” Andrew Galloway age 81 of Covington, entered eternal rest on Friday evening, February 4, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Tylertown, Mississippi on January 16, 1941 to Haskin “Bud” Galloway and Olive “Polly” Thompson Galloway.
He is survived by his children Bill Galloway (Denise), Ronnie Galloway (Kathy), Patty Lane (Ken), and Donald Galloway (Madelyn). Billy was the proud grandfather of Megan Clark (Brett), Austin Lane (Aubrey), Jessica Galloway, Rebecca Galloway, Rylee Galloway, Lucy Galloway, Tyler Lane, Avery Galloway, and Charlotte Galloway. He was the great-grandfather of seven beautiful great-grandchildren. Billy is survived by his brother Dale Galloway and Dale’s wife, Mary.
Billy is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Henrietta "Etta" Skelton Galloway, and his parents Bud and Polly Galloway,
Billy was a longtime resident of Covington and was a devoted member of New Zion Baptist Church of Covington. He worked for Bell South for over 39 years as a cable repairman.
Billy was a kind and caring person, who enjoyed spending time outdoors. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family. He was unique, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of: William “Billy” Andrew Galloway, may be made to the Building Fund, Lunch Ministry, or VBS of New Zion Baptist Church. The contributions can be mailed to: 17387 New Zion Baptist Church Road, Covington, Louisiana 70435.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks are encouraged to attend services.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, LA 70435 on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service at the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Covington, LA.
