William Joseph Ferrer, age 85 of Covington, LA died on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at home in Covington, LA. Born, Saturday, March 05, 1932 in New Orleans, LA to Alexandia L Ferrer and Mary Lenfant Ferrer.
Beloved husband of 56 years to the late Mary Hanford Ferrer. Loving father of Mark C. Ferrer, Douglas M. Ferrer, Suzanne F. Abney, and daughter-in-law Michelle P. Ferrer. Devoted grandfather of Elise C. Ferrer, Michael W. Ferrer, Christopher B. Ferrer, Logan J. Abney, and Blakely E. Abney. Brother of Henri F. Ferrer and the late Alex L. Ferrer.
Mr. Ferrer was a retired Principal of Mandeville Elementary School, served as Secretary-Treasurer of the St. Tammany Water District and was a founder, member and past King of the Krewe of Orpheus. He had served in the US Army in the Korean War.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Holy Trinity Dr., Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, January 8, 2017 at 12:30 PM with visitation at church on Monday beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests MASSES or donations in memory of Mr. Ferrer to be made to the Northshore Food Bank, 840 N. Columbia St., Covington, LA 70433. E.J.
