My deepest smypathies and condolences for Uncle Wayne's passing. Allison and Jennifer, I hope you girls can remain strong through this. I can't imagine losing a parent, even if it was expected. Wayne was a wonderful man. Our few times we were in his company were filled with happiness and great conversations. A perfect gentleman!
It is with great sorrow to have heard of the loss of Wayne. In the many years I worked for him, he was irreplaceable as the head of the unemployment compensation program. In his tenure, his leadership helped the state to succeed in the bond issuance and defeasance that not only saved our faltering trust fund but also served as a proud precedence to the rest of the country. He also was at the helm to see that the famous Volpe bill was devised and passed to financially strengthen the UI trust fund but also to aid the benefits of the unemployed. He was very capable and convincing from the person of the smallest station to the ranking members of the legislature. He worked diligently for the state through the most complicated issues ever faced by the UI program. He saw and helped resolve the most difficult labor strikes during his tenure. He was a great conciliator and visionary. I will miss him very much.
Wayne...you were the most awesome guy and we will really miss you. Charlotte...you will always have your friends here at Greenbrier to help you relive your memories with Wayne from Creeksong and Journey's end. We love you both!
