Vernie Willie David's Obituary
Vernie Caroline Willey David passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the age of 100. Born March 7, 1917 in Folsom, Louisiana to Louis (Bud) Willey and Martha Booth Willey. Beloved wife of Edward Jean David. Survived by her children EJ David (Joyce David), Sandra David Masters (John Masters), and June David Brister (The late Stephen Brister). She is also survived by six grandchildren; Brenda Kearns, Eddy David, Samantha Moley (Ronnie Moley), Eric David, Johnny Masters (Ladette Masters), Bridget Degioanni (Geoff Degioanni). Ten great-grandchildren; Joshua Kearns (Bekah Kearns), Elysha David, Kelsie Gassen, Zachary David, Ashley Degioanni (Greg Selser), Tyler David, Blake Degioanni, Dante Moley, Hunter Degioanni, Sabrina Moley and Karlie Masters. And one great-great-grandchild, Stone Selser. Preceded in death by sisters Nevada Hayno, Milbra Hayno, Virginia (AV) Ferrara, Elva David and brother Sam Willey. She was a native of Mandeville (Lewisburg) Louisiana, a lifelong member of the Mandeville Boating Association and the Our Lady of the Lake Alter Society.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Friday beginning at 9:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Garden of the Pines Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mrs. David to be made to St. Tammany Parish Hospital Hospice.
