I remember Suzanne Court and Ms. Keen as a wonderful teacher
To the children, grandchildren, other family and friends, I am sending my deepest sympathy to all of you upon the passing of Susan. She was a wonderful dear friend of mine from my days working at Latter & Blum in Mandeville, We met when she started as an agent there and became a real estate partner with another beloved friend Anna Ribbeck, They were such a great successful team together! Susan was a gifted and talented person, and one of the ways I will remember her is for her photography. She was a member of the St. Tammany Art Assoc., participating in several of the Columbia Street block Party shows or Three Rivers Art Festivals or other art shows. In the spring of 2006, she had an exhibit at the Columbia Street Block Party, I told her that my favorite photograph was a framed black and white of the Columbia Street Landing garden fountain, titled Serenity. When I retired from Latter & Blum and moved to Allen, Texas in June 2006. Susan gave me that prized photograph as a going away gift and it has been hanging in my home here in Allen ever since then! It is a gift I have always cherished, but a reminder more of the friendship she and I shared about art, family and grandchildren. May God's Peace be with all the family and friends.
Sincerely, Deedie Scaife
Susan took painting classes with me at Longue Vue House and at STAA when I offered workshops. She never saw a painting opportunity she didn't like! I enjoyed her sweet demeanor and friendliness also, her determination when working. I will surely miss her.
Susan was an inspiration to all of us in our painting class with Phil Sandusky. We will miss her determination and positive spirit, always striving to improve her painting. We'll also miss her company and her beautiful plein air paintings of our Northshore landscape.
