My name is Larry Lee. You don't know me, but I was a student at Angie in the 1960's where Shirley and Wesley were teachers and coaches. In fact, they were married shortly after I graduated. Their marriage was quite the talk of us former students. They both made an impression on my life that has lasted through the years with their gentleness, kindness, and regard for those they taught and came in contact with. My condolences to all the family I never had the pleasure of meeting. I can assure you that your heritage in these two is still influencing lives across the region in a positive way even after all these years and even though they are no longer with us. God bless you all, and may you be comforted knowing they are in that glorious place with our Lord, where we will be with them in a short while.
Shirley, Wesley, Leonora and Jonella are part of my earliest memories at First Baptist Covington. Their love and devotion to each other have always been an encouragement. Shirley's sense of humor was always special. Her girls have had a great example to follow.
