Sam Louis Latino Sr.'s Obituary
Sam Louis Latino, Sr., 76, of Covington, LA passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was born on September 4, 1941 in New Orleans, LA to the late Peter Sam Latino, Sr. and the late Iris Rotgé Latino.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Alvis “Abbie” Dargis Latino; his children Gina M. Latino, Lori Latino-Glynn (Mike), Donna Latino-Brunet (Mark), Sam L. Latino, Jr. (Laura), Holly Latino Schaffer (Richard), Steven P. Latino (Anna Lisa); sixteen grandchildren Matthew, Caity, Maggie, Michael, Sam, James, Abbie, Raegan, Conner, Kate, Clark, Jacob, Ryan, Steven, Jr., Kay Lee, and Christian; and two great-grandchildren Hailey and Mason. He is also survived by his brother Peter S. Latino, Jr.
Sam grew up in New Orleans and was a resident of Metairie before moving to Covington in 1976. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1959. After graduation, he attended Louisiana State University in New Orleans (LSUNO) where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Business. While attending LSUNO he served in the Air National Guard. After receiving his degree he became a successful business owner and entrepreneur. In addition to being a successful business man, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and his family was always his number one priority. Sam was a long time parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Holy Trinity Dr, Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 12:00 Noon with visitation on Tuesday beginning at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Sam Latino be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
