Ruth Veillon Wheat's Obituary
Ruth Veillon Wheat passed away on Monday, February 2, 2009. She was born May 28, 1928 in New Orleans to the late Seltz and Lillie Grandpierre Juneau and spent her youth in Cottonport, LA. She lived most of her adult life in New Orleans, and owned Hebert’s Beauty Salon on St. Charles Ave. for many years and was a resident of St. Tammany Parish since 1986.
She married first to Herbert J. Veillon and from this union was born two daughters, Martha Veillon Wilkes and Brenda Veillon Dunford. She married Floyd C. Wheat after grieving the loss of her first love. Mr. Wheat also precedes her in death. Including her two daughters, Ruth is survived by one brother, Vernon Juneau; her sister, Gail J. St. Romain; five grandchildren: Mary E. Berry, Holly A. Reynolds, William H. Powers, Dean J. Dunford, Shannon D. Singleton and ten great-grandchildren: Katie Beth Berry, John Henry and Andrew Reynolds, Elizabeth, Charlie and Andrew Dunford, Parker, Sam, Macy and Jack Singleton.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend memorial services on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours will begin at 10:00 AM.
