Coach Henry and my mother, Cece Hicks Cooper grew up together in Port Allen and also were friends when they both lived in Covington. I remember being introduced to him as her friend.

Coach Henry was one of my favorite teachers at St. Pauls. His sense of humor was legendary and he could bring the hammer down when it was needed. And with most of my classmates he used his hammer alot. He made Science fun. He was my 8th grade teacher and I will never forget him as a teacher and my coach. He was a good man. My sympathies to the family.

My condolences for your loss. I heard of "Coach" Henry's passing, and remembered him as my science teacher when I was in 8th grade at St. Pauls in 1981. Coach was one of my favorite teachers for his caring of his students and his great sense of humor. Coach Henry had a great impact on me as a youngster, and I will always cherish warm memories of him.
