Robbie Johnson Brown's Obituary
Robbie Johnson Brown died early Monday morning in Covington, Louisiana at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of Herman W. Brown who preceded her in death and mother of Dr. H. Winston Brown, deceased and of Zella Brown Walker of Mandeville, Louisiana. Also survived by daughter-in-law Jane Warner Brown of Shreveport and son-in-law David Walker of Mandeville. Her much loved grandchildren include Allison Brown, Caroline Brown, Warner Brown, Sarah Walker and step-grandsons John Walker and Crockett Walker. She will be missed by her long-time caregiver, Willie Ruth Lewis. She was born in 1916 in Rosepine, Louisiana and graduated with degrees from Northwestern and Northeastern State Universities. A resident of Mandeville, she lived most of her life in Calhoun, Louisiana, raising her family and teaching generation after generation of fourth-graders. She was a life-long Methodist, always supportive and active in her church. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Methodist Childrens Home, 901 Vienna Street in Ruston, Louisiana. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Funeral Services on Wednesday March 29, 2006 at 10:30 am from the Chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home 2260 West 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Wednesday from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Covington, LA.
