Richard Murray Badon Sr.'s Obituary
Richard Murray Badon, Sr. entered Heaven on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the age of 73. Born on October 12, 1948 in Bogalusa, Louisiana, he was a lifelong resident of Covington, Louisiana.
Richard was the beloved husband of Patty Morgan Badon for 52 years. He is survived by his loving wife, 4 children and their families: John “Jay” and Sheree Fortner and their children, John “Trey,” Melissa and Christian; Mitch “Shay” and Suzanne Cieutat and their children, Jeffrey, Morgan Turner, and Kevin and Jessica Montalbano; “Bubba” Glynn and Sarah Revere and their children, Allie and Elizabeth; Richard “Rick” and Gretchen Badon and their children, Luke and Grant. He is also survived by his great- grandchildren, Lillian, Lucille, Laurel and “the 3 girls.” He is survived by his sister, Donna B. Autin, and her family. He is also survived by his Fire Service family.
Richard was preceded in death by his son, David M. Badon, his brother, Thomas Badon, his parents, John Logan and Mavis Thompson Badon, and his grandparents.
As a 1970 graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University with a BA in Accounting, Richard had a successful career in Healthcare Finance, serving as Chief Financial Officer at Baptist Hospital, then owner of Medical Financial Consultants, Inc. He served as Fire Chief for the City of Covington for 20 years, after volunteering many years in the fire service, his true passion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at The Chapel at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16054 Murphy Road, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 3:00 PM with visitation beginning at 1:30 PM until service time. Interment will be private at Garden of the Pines Cemetery, Covington, Louisiana.
