Rasha Nykia Haynes' Obituary
Rasha Nykia Haynes, age 29, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. She was born on March 30, 1996, in Hammond, Louisiana, to Roosevelt Haynes, Jr. and LaTanya Haynes.
Rasha grew up in the Covington/Madisonville area and graduated from Mandeville High School. She also earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. She enjoyed her career as an Executive Assistant at DDG Architecture Company.
Rasha loved reading, dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Left to mourn her passing are her father, Roosevelt Haynes (Nanette); mother, LaTanya Haynes (Charles Crockett); paternal grandparents, Roosevelt Haynes, Sr. and Linda Mathis; maternal grandparents, Jimmie Johnson (Debbie) and Sheron Johnson; great grandmother, Doris Guzman Robinson; siblings, Jacharuis Guzman (Lauren), Tahirah Haynes, Roshad Haynes, Roosevelt Haynes, III, Sedrick Guzman; significant other, Damien Knight; godsisters, Sharon Carter, Jade Carter, and Jasmine Mitchell; and a host of extended family members and friends.
The family acknowledges DDG Architecture, St. Tammany Parish School Board, Times Grill in Mandeville, Church of the King, Historic St. James Baptist Church, and their entire community of family and friends for the generous love and support shown to them during this time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 8:30 AM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
