Philip Michael Bernard's Obituary
Philip Michael Bernard passed away in peace on March 4, 2016 at his home in Slidell, LA. He was born on July 15, 1946 in Berlin, NH to the late Raymond Bernard and Pauline Gleason Bernard
Mike was the loving father of Molly Bernard and Megan B. Kern (Jeremiah). He was the proud grandfather of Ruby Kern, who was the light of his life. Mike was the brother of Robert Bernard, Joanne Hansen, Richard Bernard and the late Barbara Allar. He will be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including longtime friend, Howard Duckworth.
Philip had an impressive career throughout his life as an hotelier of reputable hotels which enabled him to move around the country and establish lifetime friendships, though he called south Florida his home for many years. He was never one to miss a party and was a natural born host. He loved to collect artwork and antiques. Later in life, he moved closer to his daughters. His last year of life was spent with the joy of watching his only granddaughter grow. He formed an unbreakable relationship with her and his daughters. He will be missed by all that knew him and loved him.
