We have wonderful memories of our visit in 1997 with Opal in Washington, IA. Bob's Dad came with us and it was fun to listen of talk of the old days. We even took a trip to Keokuk to see Leonard Altmaier, another cousin.
Because of Opal, I was able to get a lot of information on the family tree. And the stories she told me of when she was younger. What a treasure.
I've always thought a lot of her and she will always have a special place in my heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family. Let it be a comfort to you to know she's home at last. Love Elona
