Norma Raye Chapman Culkin passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2010 peacefully in her home.
Beloved wife of the late Charles E. Culkin. Mother of Mary Olson and husband Dan, Milton Sparks and wife Cynthia and Dena Chapman-Lanclos and husband Roderick. Grandmother of Donna Rome and husband Mitch, Stacy Mejia and husband David, Jody Nicely and wife Leane, Joshua Sparks and wife Abbye, Mark Nienaber and Bambi Nienaber. Great-grandmother of Destinee’ Raiford, Krystyna Nicely, Daniel Mejia, Alexis Rome, Ciara Lopez, Katie Mejia and Savannah Sticker. Daughter of the late Daniel Elijah and Nellie Peyton Chapman. Sister of Vance O. Chapman, Wallace D. Chapman, Cedric D. Chapman, and the late Ethelyn Strange, Donald Chapman, Joe Chapman and Jimmy Chapman.
Age 88 years. A native of Jena, LA, a former resident of Port Sulphur, LA and Franklinton, LA and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 8 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Visitation from 12:00 Noon until service time.
Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mt. Herman, LA.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Food Bank of Covington, 840 N. Columbia St., Covington, LA 70433.
