Thank you to all who visit to write about Mama. The Hospice Chaplain said she had one of the most peaceful passings he had ever witnessed.
While we were waiting with Mom we were playing hymns and talking, my sister-in-law, Cynthia, read Proverbs 31 about the capable wife. When she read verse 20, "She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reachest forth her hands to the needy," I knew we needed to ask for donations to a food bank. There are signs in Covington that our local Food Bank is out of food. So, suddenly a flower that would soon wilt seemed much less important than food in hungry stomachs. An alternate charity to Covington Food Bank listed in the obituary is Second Harvest Food Bank, 700 Edward Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70123, 504-734-1322.
