Noel was a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. He lived and breathes for his family and would give the shirt off of his back to a total stranger. If he loved you then you had a friend and ally for life. Despite being the most stubborn human on the face of the Earth, he was so beloved by family and friends alike. To know him was to love him. He lived life to the fullest even during his unhealthy years. The mold was broken with his passing. He died much as he lived, on his own terms and surrounded by his children, grandchildren and friends. Our father requested that a special thanks be paid to the staff at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Fresenius Kidney Care Tchefuncte River, and Our Lady of the Lake Physicians Group of Covington for giving him more time with his family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date due to COVID-19.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Noel Matherne may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
