Tiffany and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much your dad meant to you. I just want to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Now you have him to watch over you until you are together again. May all your memories of times shared together put smiles on your faces and warm your hearts until then. What an amazing man, Husband, Father & Grandfather. My girls & I had the pleasure of starting our morning every school day with him when he took his Grandchildren to the bus stop. He always put a smile on my face & made me laugh. Such an incredible loss. He will be greatly missed. Thank you, Mr. Noel for blessing us with knowing such a great man.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Matherne and being able to be his nurse on multiple occassions. He always had a big smile on his face, even through the tough times. He was brave through his illness and never complained. His unwavering faith and positive outlook was an inspiration to me. He loved his family and spoke of them often. I only wish he would have had more time in these last days to be with them. I had the pleasure of being with him during his last week-he remained brave and humble through the darkness that he knew was inevitable. His only concern was his family. He told me that his family had a party already planned for him upon his return home. I want to believe that he was able to enjoy himself and was surrounded by all those he loved so much. He touched so many of our lives. I really just want his family to know how much we (STPH nurses) loved him. He had such a kind, gentle soul. He will be be missed.
