Nancy, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born and raised in Godfrey, Illinois. She attended and graduated Alton High School and afterward worked as a secretary at Shell Oil Wood River Refinery in Illinois. At the refinery, she met Don, the love of her life. Soon after, Don and Nancy were married and began their life together. While Don followed his career with Shell, Nancy was right there beside him, making a loving home at each new place. They started out in Florrisant, Missouri, then on to Middletown, New Jersey, and then Metairie, Louisiana. During their time in Metairie, Nancy enjoyed being a valued employee of Maison Blanche Department Store for nearly ten years. Also during this time, Nancy served the Lord as a long time member of Atonement Lutheran Church in several ways including Altar Guild, Adult Choir, teaching Sunday School and VBS, and other church activities. She volunteered at Lutheran High School on the Auction Committee. She served as a leader of the Brownies and actively fundraised for the American Cancer Society. In 1993, Don retired and they moved to Covington, Louisiana where Nancy spent her time cooking and planning family get-togethers. She enjoyed everyday homemaking, visiting with grandchildren, and her trips with Don to the Metropolitan Opera in New York. She was a past member of the Northshore Duplicate Bridge Club.
The family wishes to thank all of the ladies who cared for Nancy, especially Stacy and Tracy Fleming, and Crystal Ferris, her dedicated physical therapist. They were all a blessing to the family.
Nancy was love personified. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. She made a difference, and the world is a better place because of that.
