I remember Myra as being sweet and smart. We were classmates beginning in the 5th grade, until our 1957 graduation from Sacred Heart of Jesus in New Orleans.
I did not see Myra again for many many years. I was living in Covington and working at Lakeview Regional Hospital. One day, I went into Medical Records Dept. to get a chart, and there was Myra working in the dept. We both recognized each other and decided to get together. Myra became part of the "hand and foot" card group that I was in.
After the devastating hit of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, I was extremely worried when another storm was heading towards my home. I have many large Pine trees on property, and knowing that I lived alone with 2 dogs, Myra called and insisted I come stay with her for the storm. So my 2 dogs and I went to Myras house and stayed with her 2 granddaughters, her son and her daughter, Lisa. And cant forget about Myras dog Max. Everyone was so kind and courteous that my dogs and I felt right at home.
I will never forget Myra's kindness and generosity.
A very special lady, who was very kind and loving and I will miss her greatly.
