Merrill Joseph Lange's Obituary
Merrill Joseph Lange, a teacher at Covington High School, left his earthly home on January 8th, 2018. He is survived by his devoted and loving mother, Sylvia Lange.
He is the nephew of Leah Chase, Grace Smith, Yvette Goins, Adonicia Dawson, Eula Toca, Sammie Whittington, Janice Waddy, Hayes and Eura Lange, and the late Cleo Baham, Eleanor Ferrouillet and Charles Lange, Jr. He leaves behind a whole host of cousins whom he treated like siblings, friends and colleagues whom he treated like family and students whom he treated like the adult citizens he wanted them to be.
A native of Madisonville, Merrill was a dedicated teacher for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, card player and casino goer. His ready smile, dry wit, marvelous sense of humor and genuine friendliness will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St. Madisonville, LA 70447 at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13th, 2018. Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Madisonville Cemetery with a repast following at St. Joseph Hall at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
Services by E.J. Fielding Funeral Home.
