I remembered looking for Merrill on the Orleans ave. porch on Mardi Gras mornings. The embodiment of calm, he was always a kind face to see. Merrill, you will be missed. Rest in peace.
It was God's will for Mr. Lange to be a teacher. He was supportive, tough and nurturing. He taught me to believe in myself and to trust God's will. I can’t say enough about him and the impact he made on my life. Years after graduation when he came to my brother's funeral I was speechless and moved. Rest In Peace Sir.

Merrill my daughter Maya for her 2003 homecoming. He was always there for the Richardson family. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Miss Sylvia and Merrill's Family and Friends, please accept my deepest condolences on Merrill's unexpected passing yesterday. I am proud to have taught with Merrill at Covington High. He was a true friend, a great colleague and a wonderful and compassionate teacher. I will remember Merrill as being soft spoken but having a quick wit, thoughtful and so helpful to so many, firm when necessary, a good singer and dancer, a man who enjoyed so much in life. So sad that he passed away so young. May your loving memories bring you comfort in the days to come. May the knowledge that Merrill rests in our Lord's loving embrace bring you solace.
