Maurice Manning Houk's Obituary
Maurice Manning Houk passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the age of 78 years. He was born in Covington, LA on July 24, 1946.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Bell Houk and his son, Jeffrey Manning Houk. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Winifred Eunice Bruhl and George Manning Houk.
Maurice graduated from Covington High School in 1964 and then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1968, with some time spent in Okinawa. His career included roles as a bartender, store owner, slot machine manager, and commercial and auto insurance agent. He retired from Southern General Agency in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Maurice enjoyed bass fishing and watching the New Orleans Saints play football. His hobbies included panning for gold, restoring classic cars, throwing pottery, and painting with oil and acrylics. He had a deep faith in the Lord and frequently attended services at First Baptist Church of Covington.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Thursday, March 6th, 2025, at 11:00 AM with visitation on day beginning at 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in O’Keefe Cemetery, 18860 McLain Road, Covington, LA.
