To the Family of Mary Ann:
I' m just hearing of Mary Ann's death. I am so sorry. I am from Mali, West Africa, and I had the chance and honor to study with Mary Ann Dykes at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff. We took an ethnographic research course together. I don't know where to start. I'm so deeply sorry for your (and our) loss. Mary Ann touched the whole world with her thoughfulness and caring.Mary Ann was the embodiment of love, generosity, kindness and joy. She supported me emotionally as well as financially. She was always trying to find new ways to make my stay in the US easy and pleasant for me. No word is strong enough to describe Mary Ann's compassion and thoughtfulness. She was so caring! Simply put, she was a great soul. She will always be in my heart.

in honor of Mary Ann.

Mary Ann was God's special gift to us and she holds a sacred place in my heart. She was the embodiment of Love and her life was a living example of Christ's love for us. I loved her and continue to love her more than I knew it was possible to love. I often told her she was my Alpha and Omega. She lit up many hearts with her work and, through her students, her work on this planet continues. I plan to write a book about my 14 years with her, which she knew about. Mary Ann will live on in our hearts and her work will live on through our devotion to her and our commitment to sharing her teachings. God bless you Mary Ann. It is with profound heartfelt gratitude that I thank for coming to walk amongst us. I'm so glad you are finally resting and can bask in heavenly peace.

I met Mary Ann in 1958 the summer before we were to enter first grade together. We bonded immediately because we had the same first name. I have many happy memories of Mary Ann's friendship over the decades. Mary Ann -- May your transition to spiritual form be loving and peaceful, and may you have many joyful reunions on the other side, including with your mother, father, and Pete.

I have been a Heartway student for 24 years.I often had the opportunity to cook for Mariann and considered it an honor. She was so loving, kind ,giving and full of surprises. The most amazing of which was a surprise cooking class at Julia Child private home in Province,France during a particular difficult time in my life. She left her students with a huge piece of herself in each of our hearts to continue her work.I know the heavens rejoiced at her. homecoming
