Marvin Richard Amacker was born in Poplarville, MS on November 17, 1919, and passed away in his sleep and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elena Gonzales Amac Read Obituary
I am a member of North Cross United Methodist Church & read of Mr. Amacker's passing in the St. Tammany News. Every time I pass our church, I recall the day when we broke ground for our new building. At that time, we also erected a wooden cross, painted gold, that Mr. Amacker built. Our congregation will always remember his dedication. May he rest in peace.
Mr. Amacker lived life to the fullest, he always has a project he was working on. We will miss him. He has left us with many memories.

Mr. Marvin was a loved member of North Cross and he will be deeply missed. Every time I look at the cross at the front of the church property, I will think of Mr. Marvin's generosity.
