Margaret Jerome Sampson's Obituary
Margaret (Peggy) Jerome Sampson died peacefully on January 13, 2008. She was born October 1, 1915 and grew up in Minneapolis.
Peggy is pre-deceased by her husband Charles Milburn Sampson and is survived by three children: Charles J. Sampson and his wife Linda, Mary S. Nawrocki and her husband Chris, Dick Sampson along with his wife Marjorie. Peggy also leaves seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Most recently she lived in Covington for 37 years preceded by many years in Westport, Connecticut, Metairie and Port Sulphur, LA as well as Freeport, TX. She earned her BS at the University of Minnesota and completed some graduate work at Mills College in California. She was actively involved with the Covington Chapter of the American Association of University Women and committed time to volunteer work with organizations such as the Red Cross and Head Start. Peggy lived an active life with special interests in travel, sailing, golfing, ice skating and she always maintained an affiliation with the Presbyterian Church.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend memorial services on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours will begin at 1:00 PM. Reception following service at Christwood at 4:00 PM.
