What a woman!!! It just won't seem right to see Julika again and not turn to say "Hey Momma! How's it going??" She gave awfully big hugs for such a small framed lady.
In our family, we believe everyone gets to choose their parents. As a free floating spirit you're given your life mission and you get to look upon the earth and choose the two people in all the world that will best prepare you and cultivate the skills you will need to somehow make the world better. Julika didn't play around with her decision!!! She chose the best two people to provide her with all the love, acceptance, and intelligence she exercises everyday.
Momma was a great story teller. I asked her once how she met Julika's dad. She said, without skipping a beat, "Well, I had great legs!" followed by a sweet sincere giggle. Her sense of humor was priceless and the love for her family was endless.
Julika - you honor her everyday by just being the woman you are. You are brave and strong and her love will be with you always!

I spent 9 weeks with Julika and “Mom” in Jacksonville when Julika and I taught Fire Academy. I had the pleasure of having dinner with Mom most nights, and got to know her very well. She was a wonderful, sweet lady, and wanted me to come over to her house so she could cook for me, because she could tell I liked to eat!

I'm so sorry!!! I just found out but cannot be with you today as I would have liked. I'm grateful you have Valerie at this time. I am sending many prayers and deep sympathy.
Your mom was always so kind to me; I remember both your parents as gracious folks to all. I will not forget her wisdom in driving me home when we stayed up talking til 3 am, playing pool. I still treasure the doilies she made when we reconnected after college.
I pray you will be strengthened and consoled by the incredible amount of love I saw in your parents. Peace be with you, my childhood friend.
