Mabel Faust Walker's Obituary
Mable Faust Walker departed this life in Covington, Louisiana on the 5th day of November 2007.
Born to Mary and Orland Faust on August 27, 1913 in Paris, Tennessee, she lived for over fifty years in Norco, Louisiana, raising her family with her husband, J.D. Walker, deceased in 1977, before moving to Mandeville in 1982.
Mable is survived by her daughter Diane in Mandeville and her three sons: David, his wife, Zella Brown in Mandeville; John (Rusty), his wife, Felicia Gomez in Hahnville; and Don, his wife Bonnie Yule in Houston; six grandchildren: John David Walker, William Crockett Walker; Sarah Faust Walker; John Michael Walker; Samantha Walker and Mathis Walker; and two great-grandchildren: Maggie Walker and Sadie Evangeline Walker Page.
Mable lived a consistently joyful life, loving and being loved by family and friends, both old and new. She was a lifelong Christian in the Presbyterian tradition, showing her strong religious faith in each day of her life.
There will be a private graveside ceremony followed by a celebration of her life on the Mandeville Lakefront beginning at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 30, 2007.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the loving care given to Mable by the staff and residents of Forest Manor Nursing Home in Covington during the past six years. The family also request that in lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mable Walker be directed to Hospice of St. Tammany, 1201 S. Tyler St., Covington, LA 70433 or the donor’s charity of choice. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 entrusted with the arrangements.
