Lorraine Louise Abela's Obituary
Lorraine (Lorrie) Louise Abela passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022. She was born in New Orleans, LA on April 28, 1951.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Anne Gallagher and her brother-in-law, Kevin Gallagher. She is also survived by her cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Eleanor Mayne Abela and Andrew William Abela.
Lorrie was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington, LA since 1957. She graduated high school from St. Scholastica Academy and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southeastern University.
Lorrie was a Title Abstractor for St. Tammany Parish for many years and found great joy in being an adult literacy instructor in St. Tammany Parish. She helped many to improve their literacy skills over the years and taught others to become literacy instructors.
Lorrie was loving, compassionate, and a very caring person to all. Her true passions included reading, history, and spending time with her loving family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
