Leo Alvin Labourdette, Sr., M.D.'s Obituary
Leo Alvin Labourdette, Sr., M.D. passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010.
Beloved husband of Anona Mae Hauck Labourdette; loving father of Lori Labourdette Lambert (Gary John), Leo Labourdette, Jr. (Kathleen “Bebe” Fitzpatrick), Shari Labourdette Esposito (Anthony “Tony”), Scot Labourdette, and Nicole Labourdette Ware; and grandfather of twelve and great-grandfather of two. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Ford Labourdette; his father, Joseph Andrew Labourdette; two brothers, Clarence and Roy Labourdette; and a sister, Lois Labourdette Bossier.
Age 80 years, he was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 14 years. A United States Air Force veteran, he attained the rank of Major. He practiced medicine in the Greater New Orleans area for some 46 years. He was a member of the American Medical Association, New Orleans Medical Association, New Orleans Academy of Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine and LSU Alumni Association.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to Celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, LA 70457 on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 2:30 PM.
Visitation at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Chapel will be on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Graveside services with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.
