Lenda Dean Perez's Obituary
Lenda Dean Perez passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 surrounded by her family at her home in Mandeville, LA. She was born on November 11, 1949 in New Orleans, LA to Lynn and Jacqueline Miles Dean. Lenda was married to her beloved husband, Jerry Perez, and together they had four children, Braithe L. Nash (Joe), Miles S. Landry (Tara), Brandeis A. Perez Crowder (Joshua), and Kenneth A. Perez. She will be dearly missed by her five grandchildren, Avery, Asher, Kaitlyn, Lydia, and Macy. Lenda was the sister of Douglas Dean, Cherry Dean, the late Nettie Dean, and Gary Dean. After receiving her undergraduate degree in accounting from UNO in 1973, Lenda received her law degree from Loyola University in 1976. Lenda was active in community affairs including co-founder of the charity MWANA Mission Project, Inc. in Malawi, Africa, Daughters of the British Empire, and Lacombe Art Guild. Lenda was a longtime member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church where she was a Eucharistic minister. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 4499 Sharp Rd., Mandeville, LA 70471 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. A Scattering Ceremony will follow services in the Memorial Garden at St. Michael’s.
