My thoughts and prayers are extended to the many loved ones of the Listach & Conerly families. I will always cherish the laughter and fun times that I witnessed between she and Mrs. Henderson (especially the times we traveled to Natchitoches). Those memories will last a lifetime.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Linnette and Shaun, Mrs. Conerly was an amazing person. I grew up seeing them every Sunday in church and admired their family. May she rest in peace.
Mrs. Conerly was my teacher at Mandeville Middle School in 1970. She was force of nature! She was an excellent teacher; strict but fair, had high standards but helped everyone reach her expectations. I've thought of her often recently, because she taught me when St. Tammany Parish Schools first integrated. The anticipation of desegregation was scarier than the reality for us middle school students, but as an I adult I wonder what must those days have been like for the teachers, especially Black teachers who were also facing integrated classrooms for the first time? I don't think we students realized we had heroes like Mrs. Conerly walking among us. May her memory be for a blessing for her family and friends.
It was a privilege to teach alongside Learmia. Her sweet demeanor and lively personality brought fun to the work day. It was always evident that she loved her family and was so proud of Shaun and Linnette. Shell be missed by many and remembered fondly.
