Laura Shirlean Jenkins' Obituary
Laura Shirlean Jenkins, of Bush, Louisiana, passed away last Thursday.
She is survived by her children, Cline Jenkins, DeAnn Jenkins and Douglas Jenkins; grandchildren, Paige Thompson and Tiffany Jenkins and a great-grandchild, Adleigh Watts. She is also survived by her sisters Ellen Rae Felts and JoNell King. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Howard Jenkins.
Because she sees life as full of unending opportunities for love, learning and kindness, she requested that her date of birth and date of death not appear in this obituary, nor will it ever appear on her tombstone.
She was a foundational member of Bush Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Shirlean may be made to Bush Methodist Church. Also, she was a former school bus driver who left lasting impressions on her students, and she was the owner of a small business, Backstreet, in Covington and Mandeville for 25 years.
Visitation to honor her will begin at 12:00 PM on Friday, April 4, 2025, followed by her funeral service at 2:00 PM: E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana. Her interment will follow in her family cemetery, 27494 Highway 40, Bush, Louisiana followed by a repass at her home next door.
