Dear Carol and Family, We send our sincere sympathy, our prayers and our love. Bruce and Gayle Escher
Mrs. Carol Sheuermann & Family,
As you may know, or not know, I lost my wife, Shirley in 2008. I can relate to your sorrow and my sympathy goes out to you and your family. At the NOPB RR, Karl and I worked close together. Karl was a good worker and full of hell. He would always be joking with the rest of the office and a pleasure to be around. The LSU bus trips with Karl were a blast along with the rest of the gang from the Belt. Our Friday softball games and the fun after the games with the kids & the families, along with Karl, are very memorable. It would be an extreme hardship for me to attend Karl's funeral, since I am having, at present, back problems. Karl was a dear friend at the railroad. Although, I am not able to attend, I did want to express my sadness.
Sincerely, Don Mathews

Mike, our sincere condolences to you and your family. We are so sorry for your loss.
I made up a word befitting Coach. I call it "genuiosity". He perfected the art or state of being unapologetically genuine in both both word and deed. Younger people call this 'keepin it real'! Coach was doing this way before youngsters coined the phrase. I'll miss his unabashed, naked commentary about...well, about every thing. I'll miss his consumer buying advice. Without folks like Coach, we'd never know that a wooden icecream maker would suredly "wop". How's that for consumer advice? He was a straight shooter. He didn't Domino sugarcoat anything. He served his Navy, his nation, and da' parish. I wish you fair winds and following seas, Coach. Heaven will never be the same... Shane Brossette
