Julia Marie Deaton Davis' Obituary
Julia Marie Deaton Davis, passed away at her home in Ponchatoula, La on the afternoon of December 6, 2021, at the age of 89.
Beloved wife of the late Henry Edmonson Davis and a very devoted mother to their daughter, Janet Marie Davis.
Preceded in death by her parents, Randolph Deaton, Sr. of Morganza, LA and Lelia Falcon Deaton of White Castle, LA; brother, Randolph Deaton, Jr and his wife, Yvonne; and sister, Kate Rita Guidry and her husband, Joseph Guidry, Sr.
Julia, or Judy as many of us called her, will be deeply missed by her large family of nieces, nephew, cousins, many friends and neighbors. She has left an impression on many hearts in her near 90 years on earth. We will always remember her love of gardening, raising vegetables and sharing many delicious desserts with many. We could always count on Judy and Janet to share their recipes, mail birthday and Christmas cards or just something special for that little someone that happens at their door or yours. Judy always had a huge smile to greet you. She was the most genuine friend you could have. In their earlier years she spent a lot of time with her husband, friends and family on the waterways, fishing, and sailing (after all she was married to a true career sailor).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her and Henry’s honor to the World War II Museum, or any charity of your choice.
