I AM SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT DOUG. MAY GOD BLESS AND EASE THE PAIN TO HIS FAMILY. MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
I am deeply saddened by the death of the Judge. There are so many memories that date back to the early 70's in Slidell when my dad and the Judge were just starting their careers. I am so very sorry for the loss not only to the families but to the community as well.
To the Tanner family, Sorry to hear about the lost of your love one. We pray that God brings peace and healing to all of you in the days ahead.
We are sorry to hear about your lost of Tom. We pray that God brings all of you peace and healing in the days to come

My sympathy to family. Tanya Cassingham (daughter of late John W. Tanner Jr)
I regret that I did not hear of the Judge's passing. He was a good man and a good friend. I remember him as helpful and encouraging.
I had the privilege of meeting Tom when I was very young, and a Deputy Clerk of Court. Our office would light up, when he came in to file proceedings, as a very prominent Attorney. I had the honor of working with Tom, in the very beginning of his Judgeship. I often think back on all the great times we had as one, big, Courthouse Family.
Tom was so very proud of his family, and of his accomplishments.
My sincere condolences go to you, Melanie, the children, and all family members.
I am so sorry I could not attend the services.
Love, Sandi(Lewis)Edwards Retired-St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office
I had the privelege and complete pleasure of serving as Judge Tanner's law clerk for the two years he served as hoc at the Court of Appeal. He was such a respectable politician, a judge with intergrity, a wonderful boss, and one of the few true southern gentlemen I know. He loved his family (and was so proud of you ALL), he loved life, and he touched my life in so many ways. Fortunately, I have a photograph of him with us (his staff) at his table at Chris's to keep my memory of him alive. One of my favorite remembrances is when he got his cell phone, and someone told him to put it on vibrate....every time it "rang" he jumped almost out of his skin, and it would take him a minute to realize it was that "damn phone"! And Justin, I met you once, and I remember the last time I saw your dad we talked about you going to an art college...I imagine you are finished with that...he was quite a dad to be so proud and supportive of what you really wanted to do. I know you will miss him terribly, but you, and your brothers had one of the finest role models, and he will live on through you...not to mention there is one hell of a bright star up there looking down and love you all from up there. my sincerest condolences from someone who feels richer for having know Tom Tanner.
