It is with such sorrow to hear of Libby’s passing. She was always filled with laughter and easy to talk to as our neighbor for so many years. I was blessed to have met her and enjoyed her delightful sweets, especially her red velvet cake her family so loved. Rest in peace Libby, until we meet again.

We’re so sorry to hear of Libby’s passing! We were talking about her a couple weeks ago and asked Brenda about her at our class reunion a few months ago. Libby use to baby sit my children many years back in Port Sulphur. She was a wonderful person, had a great personality and great with my children, always smiling. She will be sadly missed.
So sorry we can’t attend the services, wish we could change our appointment, but know our thoughts and prayers are with the Family.

All of my favorite memories with Aunt “my Libby” are from when I was a child. I would call her Aunt “my Libby” and would get upset when my cousins or brothers would call her “my Libby” too. She had this chicken alarm clock that would sing “hey baby wake up and come and dance with me” and I would play that over and over. When I’d sleep over at her house, I remember putting her bra over my head to wear it as a hat. She would put everything in there, money, keys, her inhaler. She was always fun and very protective. I remember riding in a Mardi Gras parade one year and someone threw a bead back at my brother who was maybe 5 at the time and hit him in the face. That was it. She had us sit down to eat sandwiches and she threw all our trash off the float at the people who threw a bead at my brother. I remember going on Sam’s runs and we “shopped til we dropped”. I would be so excited to try all the samples and feel like we bought the whole store. She had George Strait’s greatest hits collection. It was 3 CDs that we would listen to on our way to “shop til we dropped.” My memories aren’t anything fancy or out of the ordinary. Just normal living but somehow she made the ordinary feel extraordinary. - Brooke (Toolie) Casey
