Jose Francisco Amaya's Obituary
Jose Francisco Amaya unexpectedly passed away on Friday, January 10th, 2020 at the age of 58.
He lovingly led his family as husband of Claudia and father of Juan Diego and Maria Juliana. He was the beloved son of the late Oliva Serrano de Amaya and Alfonso Amaya and sibling of Alfonso, Edgar, Diana, and Marta Amaya. His family extended to include several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jose was a dedicated husband, father, Catholic, and friend. He spread the joy of Jesus everywhere he went and it was noticed by all. He treasured his wife and children and made them his number one priority at all times.
Originally from Colombia, South America, he moved to New Orleans and continued to reside in Louisiana for 20 years. He specialized in home sales as the Sales Manager for Alvarez Construction. His charismatic, amiable, and energetic nature turned every stranger into a friend. His enthusiastic love of life, sincere friendliness, and infectious smile leaves a loving imprint on all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471 on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 starting with a visitation at church from 10:30 AM followed by Mass at 12:30 PM.
Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens will be PRIVATE.
