Jonathan Stephen DiLeo's Obituary
Jonathan Stephen DiLeo passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2008 from complications related to the treatment of a brain tumor.
Beloved son of Stephen and Cassy DiLeo; loving brother to Michael Carlo DiLeo, Kathryn DiLeo, and new brother to Phillip Michael "M.J." Coates; grandson to Larry R. Miele, Sr. and Marlene Miele; and nephew of Larry Miele, Jr., Charles DiLeo, Patricia Rodrigue and her husband David, Nancy Meier, Carol Benit and her husband Thomas, Trudy DiLeo and her husband Chris Shaw and Janet DiLeo Wade, as well as numerous cousins and other relatives. He is also survived by his best friend, Robyn Rubins and his favorite teachers, Patricia Vicknair and Sidney Rougelot. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Carlo A. DiLeo, Ruth LaCroix DiLeo and Cheryle Townsend Miele; an aunt, Lillie R. DiLeo; and an uncle, Christopher DiLeo.
Age 17 years, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 16 years, he was an Honor Student of the Junior class at Fontainbleau High School and a former student of Northlake Christian School. While attending FHS he participated on the Cross Country Team, the Philosophy Club and the Creative Writing Club. He was a member of the Youth Group of First Baptist Church of Covington and a former member of the Youth Group of Hope Church of Waldheim. He was a passionate reader of history, theology and science, and aspired to be both a professor and author. He was also an accomplished public speaker and won several public speaking awards. Jonathan was very caring and this was demonstrated by his stated request through the Make A Wish Foundation to fund an irrigation project for an orphanage in Zimbabwe.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 12:00 noon at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 Hwy 1085, Covington, LA 70433.
A wake will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation AT THE CHURCH on Wednesday will begin at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
A reception will follow graveside services at First Baptist Church of Covington.
