The family does not know me or my husband, retired Delta Captain Charles Peck but I became reacquainted with John while he was in Rehab at Pontchartrain. My husband has been a resident there for four years and I would visit with John when I saw charley which usually is every other day.
I had some nice visits with John and he was always upbeat. We did talk a lot about the fishing trips he shared with Charley

It was a pleasure and a privilege to fly with John.
John knew my husband Charley and fished with him. I visited John often while in rehab at Pontchartrain where my husband resides.
John still had his great sense of humor and I enjoyed my visits.
We were so sorry to hear of John's passing and will miss seeing him out by the mailbox. Wish we could be with you today-our thoughts and prayers are with you.
In 1957 I began to fly co-pilot with John out of MSY in the DC3. I especially remember flights 312 & 315 that left New Orleans about 5:30 in the morning for Atlanta. We made stops in Hattiesburg, Meridian, Selma, Montgomery, and Columbus, GA on the way. We called ahead on the radio and ordered breakfast for pick up in Meridian. I'd run in and grab the bag and we'd be off to Selma. We arrived in Atlanta about noon and had lunch. When we left Atlanta we were headed back to New Orleans with the same stops on the way. It was always great fun to fly with John. He was a wonderful man and a good pilot. I enjoy every memory of flying with him through the years. I also enjoyed the continuation of our friendship after retirement in Covington. My thoughts and prayers are with Alice and his entire family at this difficult time. Sincerely, Hubert Lipscomb

Very sorry to hear of John's passing. Both I and my late ex-wife, Peggy O'Hearn Walter, flew with John on the CV-440 in MSY. We both enjoyed knowing and flying with him. Unfortunately, for us, we left the MSY base in 1968 and lost touch with the Potts. My best to the family.
