John "Doots" J. Lanson's Obituary
John “Doots” Jay Lanson passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday June 8th 2010 at home. He was 58 years old.
Dootsie was born and raised in Metairie, LA and was a ’69 graduate of Archbishop Rummel H.S. He lived in Covington, LA, a parishioner of St Peter Catholic Church for the past 30 yrs. A hardworking paint contractor, Dootsie was well known and loved by many as a lifetime Who Dat and LSU fan.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 yrs, Beth Marley Lanson; daughters Virginia Lanson Halligan (Seann) and Marley Lanson; mother Iris Pollet Lanson; brothers Nicholas Jr. and Christopher Lanson (Susan); sisters Judy Hominick (David), Elizabeth and Emily Lanson; brother-in-law Mark Marley and numerous nieces and nephews. Son of the late Nicholas A Lanson Sr. Grandson of the late Amelus and Marie Louise Pollet and the late Frank and Anna Lanson. Father-in-law of Seann Halligan and proud grandfather of Liam Halligan.
Visitation Friday June 11th, 2010 from 10 AM to 1 PM at St Peter Catholic Church, 125 E 19th Ave, Covington, La. Mass at 1 PM followed by burial at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Rd, St. Benedict, LA.
