'Michelle and I were really saddened to hear of the sudden tragic passing of our Uncle John. We will always hold fond memories from our childhood and into adulthood with our laid back, calm and intelligent Uncle. Memories include golfing with him, with James racing across the course in a golf buggy, visiting casinos for large buffet lunches, flying with him over Lake Ponchartrain and lying by the pool whilst he darted around on his lawn mower. We will all miss you immensely, rest in peace Uncle John. With love from, Mark (& Cheryl), Michelle (& Tim) and Callum, Corah, Elise and Luca.'

Will always remember you dear John. My fondest memories are from our trip to Laramie Wyoming, the Yellowstone and up to Montana. I love John’s dry wicked sense of humor and his vast knowledge. We had many interesting conversations. Will miss you my friend. Sending love, hugs and prayers.

Our trip to Paris from England with 4 adults and 4 children in a tiny little station wagon, all in the span of 24 hours. My husband and I wanted to see Paris, and Dianne and John thought it would be a good way. We left in the middle of the night in this tiny car. Drove to the ferry and arrived in Paris, where we toured around. The most memorable was John, with his quiet composure, who navigated the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It is like a speedway with cars coming at you from all angles. We were biting our fingernails, but John seemed like it was just another quiet drive. We all still talk about the Paris trip with all of us in a tiny car in a span of 24 hours. I will never forget.
