Love you Unk❤️⚜️❤️
Midway through my electrical apprenticeship, I was given a work assignment to a medical facility project on which both "Big John" and his dad were working. What luck! Most of the job I worked directly under "Big John's" guidance and supervision, but got to know his dad well, too. Both were highly skilled electricians, and "Big John" himself I'd say was even more meticulous about his artistic craftsmanship regarding conduit shaping. In some ways they both taught me more than I was really quite yet ready to fully come to grips with, and that was an extraordinary gift. Both were as quintessentially "old school" New Orlenian as the River Bend shotgun house "Big John" grew-up in. Over the years, "Big John" and I became close friends, but sadly lost regular contact after he moved to the Northshore. I'm pretty sure I'll get to see him again down the road, though. Love to Debbie and the kids.
I met John in high school. He introduced me to his friend Don, my husband now for 53 years. John was the Best Man at our wedding. We all lived in the same neighborhood of New Orleans. We have lots of great memories from many years. Our deepest sympathies to Debra, his children and their families. Susan and Don Gaillot
I worked with Big John for years in the electrical field and attended many of his safety classes at the IBEW. He was always dedicated to the job at hand no matter how big the challenge may have been. I will miss our almost daily text and frequent phone calls. We have lost a truly good man and he will be missed by many. My condolences to the entire Bowers family.
