John Lloyd Belloni III's Obituary
John Lloyd Belloni, III, age 65, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born on July 6, 1959, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Michele Ann Palughi Belloni; children, John Michael Belloni (Tristan) and Bradley Belloni; grandchildren, Ella Belloni and Joshua Belloni; mother, Mariee Teresa Belloni; siblings, Jeri Belloni Caragliano (Frank) and Jamie Belloni Chenevert (Mark); and Bridget Belloni Connelly (John); and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Lloyd Belloni, Jr.
John grew up in the Westgate community outside of New Orleans and graduated from Alfred Bonnabel Magnet Academy High School in Kenner in 1977. He then served 8 years in the United States Coast Guard. While in the Coast Guard, he was stationed in various interesting places around the world. While stationed on the U.S.C.G.C. Dallas, he responded to the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster off the coast of Florida. He earned a life-saving medal of honor and appeared on Good Morning America for being first on scene when a fishing charter crashed while stationed at Sandy Hook in New Jersey. It was also while stationed at Sandy Hook that he met the love of his life, Michele. They were married in 1989 and enjoyed 36 wonderful years together.
John loved his family. He was a loving husband and dedicated father. He loved cooking for his family. He was a master on the grill. He could cook anything, from grilling up some perfect steaks to smoking a brisket for 8 hours. He passed that passion for cooking to his son, who would always call him for grill questions. Even when he knew the answer his son liked to call to get his dad's opinion. John also passed the love of video games on to his son. Playing video games was something they could always bond over regardless of anything else going on in life. He had a huge heart filled with love. He will be dearly missed by everyone who has had the pleasure of knowing him.
