It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I write these words to bid farewell to a remarkable woman, I know that she was because of my best friend Erin Hassinger who cared for her deeply and was always at her side though the good times and especially the hard times she peacefully departed from this earthly realm, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering grace. Though her physical presence may be absent, her spirit will forever be with her children and grandchildren.
I had privilege of knowing her. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel important and cherished, and her warm embrace was a source of comfort to all whom she held close. She was a natural mother and I’ve never felt more welcome in her presence.
Because of my dear friendship with Erin I realize the importance of empathy, compassion, and embracing every precious moment life has to offer. Because of what she taught her.
Rest peacefully, JoAnn , in the comforting embrace of eternity.

While I didn't know Joann well, I know her through her daughter Erin, one of my dearest friends. She spoke of her constantly in conversation, visited her nearly everyday, and held her hand as she passed. Her mother lives on through her countless memories and undying love.
