Jeanne Watkins Raspino's Obituary
Jeanne Watkins Raspino passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 in Covington, LA. She was born in New Orleans, LA on Friday, July 29, 1927 to Anna Mary Short and Rufus Carlton "Gerald" Watkins. She lived most of her life in New Orleans and Metairie, LA before moving to Mandeville in 2005. Until retirement, she taught catholic elementary school at St. Lawrence the Martyr in Kenner and St. Louise de Marillac in Arabi, LA.
The beloved wife of the late Louis A. Raspino, Sr., she is survived by her daughter - Cynthia R. Johnson (Ronald); one son - Louis A. Raspino, Jr. (Cheryl); four grandchildren - Christine R. Turner (Joshua), Michael L. Raspino (Lindsey), Scott L. Johnson (Tamara), Tammy J. Ryan (Sean) and eight great grandchildren. Her parents precede her in death.
Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral mass at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 61030 Brier Lake Drive Lacombe, LA 70445.
Visiting hours at the church on Wednesday will begin at 9:30 AM.
Following a reception with lunch served in the Church Hall, burial at St. Patrick Cemetery #1 in New Orleans is scheduled to take place at 2:00 PM.
